Lakshmi’s dilemma

In tonight’s episode a weekly task is handed out where contestants are given responsibilities based on CVs to manage the house. They are also given costumes that would help them live the characters of the role that they are playing inside the house.

To successfully complete her weekly task, Lakshmi is asked to wear trousers as a part of her costume, something that doesn’t sit well with her because her community shuns the usage of pants. A frantic Lakshmi breaks down and cries hysterically realizing that if orders are not followed, she might be asked to go to Jail. Juhi Parmar rushes to the confession room and asks for Bigg Boss’s permission so that Lakshmi does not break the rules of her community. Bigg Boss grants the permission and Juhi conveys this to Lakshmi, who then can’t stop singing praises for Bigg Boss.

Salman back in Bigg Boss

Salman Khan, who was said to be shooting abroad for Yashraj Films’ Ek Tha Tiger, is reported to be rushing back to India to join Sanjay Dutt again in this weekend’s Aakhri Farmaan episode.

Pooja Misrra has been putting up a brave front until now, also surviving scathing attacks from Pooja Bedi, Vida Samadzai, Gulabo Sapera and eunuch Laxmi Narayan. But it will be interesting to see if she can survive Salman, if the superstar himself decides to grill her coming Friday.

Birthday predictions for Big B

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG B

In the words of super star Rajnikant himself, “If I am considered ‘The King’ of Indian cinema, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is ‘The Emperor’ !”. Can anybody defy this fact ?.

Our in house expert and famous astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts what’s in store for the actor par excellence – Shri Amitabh Bachchan fondly known as ‘Amitji’ or the ‘Big B’ who celebrates his 69th birthday soon.

“AB Sr. was born on 11th October, 1942 which makes him a Number 2 (Moon) person in numerology. Being ruled by Number 2, he is automatically ruled by Number 7 (Ketu) as well since Numbers 2 and 7 always go hand in hand. Like all Librans, he is also ruled by Number 6 (Venus). Since his destiny number adds up to Number 1, he is also ruled by the most powerful star in the galaxy – the Sun” explains Bhavikk.

He continues “Being Number 2, Amitji can be the softest and most gullible person one can come across. His persona may come across as huge, but for those who know him well would vouch for the fact that he is a ‘child’ by heart and way too easy to impress. That is one of the reasons why he trusts people so easily, which is actually not a good thing for him though. Being ruled by Number 6, he was born to be ‘famous’. Lastly being ruled by Number of 1 of Sun, he is what he is – the ‘numero uno’ star. People who are ruled by Numbers 1, 2, 6 or 7 are most successful in creative fields. Talking of that, Mr.Bachchan is ruled primarily by these four numbers. So yes, besides his hardwork, honesty and dedication towards his craft, his ‘luck’ has also played a major part in contributing to his super success”.

“Mr.Bachchan will now be entering his 70th year and that completely focuses on his duties and activities on the home turf. His long impending dream of becoming a proud ‘dadaji’ is finally coming true with Abhishek and Aishwarya on the verge of becoming parents soon and that will keep him busy all through the year” predicts Bhavikk zealously.

“Besides that, bigger and better offers for movies, television, endorsements etc. will constantly be pouring in throughout the year 2012 and he should make the ‘most of it’” advices Bhavikk.

“Thankfully, things are looking up on the health front as well, as his personal joy and happiness is enough to let him be in a cheerful mood throughout” states Bhavikk.

“All in all, a ‘fabulous’ period for our very own ‘sarkar’ in the near future”.

“ ‘Tum jiyo hazaaron saal, saal ke din ho ‘pachaas hazaar’ sings Bhavikk merrily before signing off ! ”.

Surprise exit in Bigg Boss

Sonika Kaliraman Voluntarily Leaves Bigg Boss 5 House

Given the recent ups and downs and the turbulent environment in the BIgg Boss 5 house, Sonika Kaliraman was offered the opportunity to leave the Bigg Boss 5 House and return home. An excited Sonika was overjoyed at being given this prospect. She joyously announced to  her fellow contestants that she was going home to live peacefully with her husband and family. Due to the emotional rollercoaster ride and recent war of words between Pooja Misrra and the rest of housemates, Bigg Boss offered Sonika the opportunity to leave the house on humanitarian grounds so that she could have a happy and peaceful pregnancy. An immensely happy Sonika could not stop gushing even after she stepped out of the Bigg Boss house about how glad she was to be going home. Her fellow contestants, however, were shocked at the news and sent her home with a tearful farewell and good wishes. Sonika’s journey in Bigg Boss 5 might have come to an end, but her smile and positivity will be missed by the contestants and audiences alike.

New entry in Bigg Boss

Amar Upadhyay Enters Bigg Boss 5 House

Television’s one-time favourite son, Amar Upadhyay, whose claim to fame is the role of Mihir Virani from popular serial, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, will be seen entering the Bigg Boss 5 house. While the house has seen 13 female contestants and only 1 male contestant in the first week, the entry of one more male contestant will definitely create some enthusiasm among the ladies and insecurity in sole-male Shakti’s mind.

On entering the house, a confident Amar said, “I decided to take up Bigg Boss 5 only to challenge myself because I am a very restless person and love parties, fast cars and long drives. The ladies in the house have only dealt with Shakti Kapoor so far, who I believe is an uncle. A real man is finally entering the house. Women don’t want to see Shakti Kapoor on screen – they want to see young blood like me. If audiences are expecting to see the Mihir side of me, they are going to be in for a shock. I am going to be myself, which is a far cry from what Mihir was!”

At the peak of his career, Amar quit Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to make a career in Bollywood, but so far he has not been very successful. At various instances, he returned back to television for a short stint, but he has never shown deep interest in reviving his television career. Having been in the television industry for over 10 years, Amar shares a rapport with Juhi Parmar. However, most of the contestants are relatively unknown to him.

Amar Upadhyay is the first new entrant in Bigg Boss 5 and is bound to ruffle some feathers inside the house. Will Amar be accepted or treated like an outcast?

Tv stars speak about Bigg Boss 5

Nari-Shakti in Bigg Boss 5

By Natasha Coutinho

Shakti Kapoor, of the casting couch fame, is the sole male participant of Bigg Boss – Season 5. Featured with him are 13 ladies who will have to make do with the ‘villain’ as a companion for 90 days. The female participants are 1. Pooja Bedi 2. Rageshwari Loomba 3. Mahek Chahal – acted in Nayee Padosan 4. Juhi Parmar 5. Pooja Mishra – VJ and model 6. Nihita Biswa – wife of dreaded gangster, Charles Shobraj 7. Shonali Nagrani – Cricket presenter 8. Shradha Sharma – actress 9. Gulabi Sapera – Rajasthani singer-dancer 10. Vida Samadzai – Afghan beauty 11. Sonika Kaliraman – participant of Khatron Ke Khiladi 12. Mandeep Belvi – Film reviews presenter and actress, and 13. Laxmi – transvestite and dance instructor.

I spoke to some leading TV stars to find out their reactions to the lop-sided cast of Bigg Boss – Season 5. Here’s what they said:

Ankita Lokhande (Archana of Pavitra Rishta): “I can’t recognize any of the participants except Shakti Kapoor. I had heard that Ekta Kapoor would be entering the house and I was excited about seeing her on the show. I was offered the show but could not go because of ‘Pavitra Rishta’. Shakti Kapoor will be entertaining and I’ll watch the show for him. Thank god I did not go, but it will be interesting to see how this season pans out with Shakti Kapoor being the lone male on the show.”

Manasi Parekh – (Of Gulal fame): “Of course I am going to watch Bigg Boss 5. It’s like a Diwali mela that we wait for every year; it’s the ultimate circus! Instead of sympathizing with the ladies I should say poor Shakti Kapoor! 13 ladies together means an entire army of madness. Nari-shakti ke saamne Shakti Kapoor ki shakti kam pad jaayegi! I can’t catch the first episode as I will be busy with the rehearsals for my show ‘Star Ya Rockstar’, but I will try and watch the rest of the episodes.

Karan Mehra (Naitik from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai): Names like Mike Tyson and Jonty Rhodes were being bandied around. Even Parul Chauhan was to be there. I’m really surprised at the final list! I have worked with Shakti Kapoor in my fashion designing days. I had styled his look – and that of the entire cast – for the film, Haste Haste. I’d love to see how Shakti fares in Bigg Boss’ house whenever I manage to catch the show. It is definitely interesting that he is the sole male participant.

Rucha Habnis (Rashi from Saath Nibhaana Saathiya): I don’t like Shakti Kapoor but I am sure he will have fun being the only male in the house. I will watch Bigg Boss 5 because it always has something new and interesting in the form of activities and tasks. It will also be fun to watch how the ladies from different cultures and different professional backgrounds get along in the same house.

Harshad Chopra (Mohan from Dharampatni): Good for Shakti Kapoor that he will be locked up with 13 girls. I am too busy shooting for my show so I don’t think I will be able to watch Bigg Boss – Season 5.

Aishwarya Sakhuja (Toasty/Tanya from Saas Bina Sasural): Hearing that Shakti Kapoor is the only male participant this season in Bigg Boss made me smile. It will certainly be interesting to watch if I can take out time from my shoots. 13 women staying in that house will either have a good bonding or you know what I mean. But yes Shakti is certainly one lucky man!
